At Untamed Borders we recommend applying for visas with a professional visa service who can guide you though the process and take care of lodging and collecting your passport with multiple embassies, so we have teamed up with The Visa Machine. They live and breathe visas and have the expertise to provide current and accurate information and arrange the correct visas for your trip, quickly and at a good price.

In many countries, without a visa you'll simply be turned away at the border or at check-in for your flight. The cheapest way to get a visa is to deal directly with the embassy of the country you need a visa for. However this can be a confusing and complicated process, with obscure questions on application forms, limited help from embassy officials, long waits while your passport is being processed and time consuming trips to embassies. The Visa Machine handle every aspect of your visa application, leaving you time to enjoy planning the rest of your trip.

Each embassy sets its own processing times for visa applications, as do the issuing authorities for eVisa applications. Generally, they keep to this timing, but some factors can cause fluctuations such as high volumes of applications, or technical issues. Some embassies also have to submit applications to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their country, which can cause processing to take significantly longer.

Unfortunately, our powers do not extend to influencing the processing times set by the embassies! As a general rule of thumb, we would recommend applying for your visa at least 1-2 months from your departure date, but again, make sure you check the processing times for the visa you’re applying for. It’s also worth noting that processing times normally do not include weekends.

You can find approximate processing times under ‘Important Info’ when you search for your visa on our website. For more detailed instructions on how to use our website, flick over to this help section; All about The Visa Machine / How does the website work?
